Very old stupa in weathered wood. Original and unique piece.
Origin: Nepal
Condition: pretty good for such an old part. Some visible traces of red color.
The piece is mounted on a black support specially made for it. it is included in the price (see detail photo).

The stupa was used to enshrine relics of Buddha.
The stupa can also be referred to by the term Chaitya
Similar items can be found in other regions. A Stupa bears the name of Chorten in Tibet, Dagoba in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) or even Chedi in the kingdom of Siam (Thailand).
